However, there can be no assurance that the COVID-19 virus will not be contracted while on the courts. This is a risk that each member or guest must assess themselves when at the courts. Stay home if you don't feel well! We are excited to get out onto the courts and are working with the County of Annapolis to get the nets up as soon as possible. We're certain the weather will make a turn for the better and we can all get out and get our warmups in for the upcoming season. Official play will start with the Season Opener (tentatively scheduled for 04 June 2022).
The courts have not been resurfaced as of yet, but we're hoping that play will continue until such time (unlike last season where the courts were locked early in the season with no progress). We don't imagine there will be a long delay like last year, but we'll keep you posted! Our inaugural Season Opener was a HUGE success this past weekend thanks in part to the County of Annapolis Recreational Department, our associate club Annapolis Royal Tennis Club and our amazing members!
We still remain under health restrictions but we are able to play with limited players on the courts. Unfortunately, there are no tournaments, clinics or lessons allowed this season due to the pandemic but we're all there to help, and be helped. Don't be shy! We are a welcoming and inclusive club all there with the same goal in mind — to chase around a silly yellow ball. Not sure about membership? Drop in fees are $5 (plus a loonie for the loonie bin). Come out and give us a try, or contact us if you have any questions. Bring your racquet, facemask and a folding chair, meet other club members, become familiar with the courts and even play a fun social match or two!
